Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East – Enter the Wild

Your safari adventure begins at 7:30 AM when your professional driver-guide picks you up from your Mombasa beach hotel. Enjoy a scenic drive inland, passing sisal plantations and small towns before arriving at Tsavo East National Park—the land of red elephants and rolling savannah. Enter through the Bachuma Gate and kick off your first game drive, scanning for lions, buffalo, giraffes and possibly leopards along the way. After lunch at your lodge—located right inside the park—you’ll head out again for an afternoon game drive until around 6:30 PM. Return to your lodge, where wildlife often comes close by, offering serene views into the dusk. Enjoy a hearty dinner and fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.

Day 02: Tsavo East to Salt Lick – Luxury Among Giants

Rise with the sun for an early morning game drive in Tsavo East—prime time for spotting predators and active wildlife. After breakfast, exit the park and journey toward the Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Sanctuary, arriving in time for lunch. Settle into the world-famous Salt Lick Lodge, a one-of-a-kind sanctuary where elevated rooms on stilts overlook a busy watering hole—offering some of the best armchair game viewing in Kenya. Spend your afternoon on a game drive within the private sanctuary, followed by an enchanting evening as elephants and other wildlife gather beneath the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Salt Lick Lodge, full-board included.

Day 03: Salt Lick to Mombasa – One Last Safari Sunrise

Start your final day with a pre-breakfast game drive, when the golden light and cool temperatures draw out a variety of wildlife. After breakfast, embark on a final game drive through the sanctuary, soaking in the last sightings of elephants, antelope, giraffes, zebras and possibly lions. Begin your return journey to Mombasa with a stopover for lunch en route. You’ll arrive in the coastal city by afternoon and be dropped off at your beach hotel—refreshed and filled with unforgettable safari memories.
