CLASSIC KENYA – 8 DAYS/7 NIGHTS
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you will be warmly received by a representative from Explores Tours and Safaris and transferred to your Nairobi hotel. After checking in and settling down, you’ll be briefed on the exciting safari itinerary ahead. This welcome evening offers you the chance to unwind and prepare for the adventure into Kenya’s iconic wilderness.

Day 02: Nairobi to Samburu

After a hearty breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, the safari officially begins as you embark on a scenic drive north to Samburu. You’ll arrive at your camp in time for lunch and have a chance to relax before heading out on your first thrilling afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve. The reserve is known for its dramatic landscapes and the lifeblood Ewaso Nyiro River, where elephants bathe peacefully and crocodiles linger in the waters. Samburu is home to a wide range of wildlife, including well-represented predators such as cheetahs and leopards. You’ll return to camp in the evening for dinner and a restful night amid the sounds of the wild.

Day 03: Exploring Samburu

Enjoy a full day dedicated to exploring the natural beauty and wildlife of Samburu Game Reserve. With both morning and afternoon game drives, you’ll have ample opportunity to spot the unique “Samburu Special Five” — the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa oryx — along with other savannah wildlife. Meals will be served at the camp, providing a comfortable base to rest and reflect between your game viewing sessions.

Day 04: Samburu to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, leave Samburu and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, set off on a game drive in this 24,000-acre private wildlife reserve renowned for its conservation efforts. You’ll visit the sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees — the only one of its kind in Kenya — and also encounter protected black rhinos. With the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya forming a breathtaking backdrop, the conservancy offers a rich and memorable wildlife experience. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay within the conservancy’s peaceful surroundings.

Day 05: Ol Pejeta to Lake Naivasha / Elementaita

After breakfast, continue your journey southwest to the serene lakeside landscapes of Lake Naivasha or Lake Elementaita. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and spend a leisurely afternoon at your own pace — whether it’s lounging by the lake, enjoying optional birdwatching or exploring the scenic grounds. The region offers a calm respite from the bush and is perfect for unwinding before heading into the heart of the Maasai Mara. Dinner and overnight at your chosen lakeside lodge.

Day 06: Lake Naivasha/Elementaita to Maasai Mara

Fuel up with breakfast before setting off for the legendary Maasai Mara Game Reserve, one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. Arriving in time for lunch, you’ll check in at your lodge or camp before heading out for an exhilarating afternoon game drive between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. The Mara’s endless savannahs are home to some of the highest concentrations of big cats in Africa, so keep your eyes open for lions, cheetahs, leopards and other iconic predators as you begin to experience the magic of the reserve. Dinner and overnight will be at your Maasai Mara accommodation.

Day 07: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

Prepare for a day of incredible game viewing as you venture out early for a full-day safari experience across the Maasai Mara (from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM). With your guide leading the way, you’ll track the countless species that call the reserve home, including elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes and more. Depending on the season, you might even catch a glimpse of the Great Migration crossing the Mara River. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve before continuing your exploration. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and another night in the wild.

Day 8: Maasai Mara to Nairobi – Departure

After a final breakfast in the bush, it’s time to bid farewell to the Maasai Mara and begin your return journey to Nairobi. Along the way, stop briefly at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for panoramic photos and a moment to appreciate Kenya’s stunning geological heritage. You’ll then proceed to JKIA for your departure flight, filled with memories from a week of adventure, discovery, and natural wonder.
